The beautiful Crystal Ballroom at the Knickerbocker Hotel Chicago
Our Elegant Event Lighting team had another wonderful wedding weekend working at the historic Knickerbocker Hotel in Chicago. Kelly and her team at the Millennium Knickerbocker were amazing to work with and the room looked absolutely gorgeous. The bride brought her Chicago themed wedding to life with so many unique touches throughout the hotel including table numbers with photos of historic Chicago landmarks and an original poster of the Knickerbocker Hotel showcasing their names and wedding date. Sarah’s Pastries provided a unique Chicago Skyline themed wedding cake that was the perfect centerpiece to the hotel’s one of a kind lighted dance floor. Our lighting team provided Pin Spot Lighting for the gorgeous flower arrangements and amber uplighting filled the ballroom with a warm golden hue accenting the Bride & Groom’s custom golden chairs designed by the bride herself!

Fall Wedding Trends

Beautiful Fall themed Wedding complete with Amber Uplighting.
It’s hard to believe that Fall is right around the corner. Our summer wedding season went by so fast and we saw so many beautiful weddings over the past 3 months. But for those who are planning a Fall wedding the hot colors include burnt orange, chocolate brown, midnight blue, deep purple, and classic grey. I love the warmth of these colors especially if your venue has a wood or rustic feel.
Believe it or not, adding some bling to your wedding gown is also a Fall trend. Imagine a bejeweled belt, or hair accessory to make your gown pop while walking down the aisle. Crystals and beading can take your gown from ordinary to extraordinary.
Uplighting can really transform your room and is a perfect accent for your Fall themed Wedding. Our favorite color to use for the Fall is a warm amber which will create a soft ambience that is inviting to your guests and looks amazing in photos. If you are working with a leaf or tree theme, Pattern Lighting Projections on the wall or dance floor will add a unique touch.
And we can’t forget to add some Fall themed decor. If you are lucky enough to have a farmer’s market nearby, you can pick up pounds of materials to decorate your venue. Look for corn stalks (perfect for entryways and arches), wheat bundles, dried Chinese lantern branches, mini-gourds and full sized pumpkins. And don’t forget hay bales, barrels of woody fruit, like apples and pears, pots full of mums, and nuts in the shell or loose acorns. Groups of simple votive candles in mason jars look perfect grouped together in arrangements, too.

Fabulous Four Seasons Hotel Chicago

Elegant Event Lighting created a beautiful fabric backdrop and custom white dance floor at Four Seasons Chicago.
After 8 months of preparation, our much anticipated Four Seasons Hotel Chicago Wedding finally took place on August 6. A big thank you to Cory and the incredible staff at Four Seasons Chicago and our fabulous florist Judy from Grapevine Flowers who worked so closely with Jay and our Elegant Event Lighting team every step of the way.
Our design for this opulent wedding included a beautifully draped white fabric hallway where guests were greeted by a fog screen illuminating our Bride & Grooms custom monogram. An opulent White Dance Floor provided a dramatic centerpiece in the main ballroom along with a gold monogram. Grapevine Flowers provided gorgeous tall centerpieces that we highlighted with pin spot lighting.
Elegant Event Lighting completely draped the After Party Room in white fabric with multi-colored uplighting to create a lounge/club effect while guests danced on our custom metallic floor until 2:00am to the music of DJ Speed.
This wedding was definitely one we will never forget!

Elegant Event Lighting designed a gorgeous ceiling canopy for Kristen & Tony's Wedding at Prairie Landing Golf Club
The month of July was filled with wonderful weddings so I thought I would share with you some great photos from Kristen & Tony’s July 30, wedding reception at the gorgeous Prairie Landing Golf Club in West Chicago.
Our company had the privilege of providing both DJ Entertainment & Lighting for the wedding along with Timothy Whaley Photography capturing every moment throughout the evening.
Our Lighting Designer Jay, worked closely with the Father of the Bride to create the perfect ambience for all of Kristen & Tony’s guests. The beautiful Ceiling Canopy designed by Elegant Event Lighting was the perfect centerpiece for the ballroom.
DJ Lorry, kept the dance floor packed while guests enjoyed a fun-filled evening complete with a pizza snack to end the night. As you can see from the Kristen & Tony’s smiling faces…an amazing night was had by all!
