Northwestern University’s Dance Marathon is here again! Over 750 Northwestern University students will dance the weekend of March 8-9 for 30 hours to raise money for The Danny Did Foundation dedicated to prevent childhood deaths caused by seizures. NU Alum and Something 2 Dance 2 Owner DJ Jay Sims, takes on his 17th year as DJ for this amazing event. It is one of the best events we are involved in all year!
In 2012, NU students raised over $1.1 million dollars and they hope to exceed that goal again this year for The Danny Did Foundation. If you would like to check out live footage all weekend long or to make a donation, please visit www.nudm.org

Chicago Wedding DJ Jay Sims at Dance Marathon 2009
Chicago Wedding DJ Jay Sims will keep the crowd going for 30 hours at Northwestern University’s Dance Marathon March 4-6, 2011. Students will dance the night away to raise funds for The Children’s Heart Foundation.
This will be the 15th year Jay, a Northwestern University Alum, will be providing DJ Entertainment services for the annual event.
Northwestern University’s Dance Marathon began in 1975 as a way to raise funds for The American Epilepsy Foundation. The event has grown over the years and is one of the world’s largest collegiate philanthropies. Last year the event raised over $800,000 for Stand Up For Kids.
Chicago Wedding DJ Jay Sims looks forward to entertaining over 1200 dancers and additional guests from around the country. Upon completing the event this year, Jay will have donated 450 hours to raising funds for various charitable organizations.

Kenilworth Club hosts Engaging High Tea Bridal Fair

On Sunday November 14, The Kenilworth Club and Red Letter Event Planning are hosting an Engaging High Tea Bridal Fair with some of the top wedding professionals in the Chicagoland area. Our very own, Jay Sims of Elegant Event Lighting will be providing the lighting and decor. Other vendors include BBJ Linens, Hearty Boys Catering, Chicago Social Brides Magazine and Ben Mahoney Productions, just to name a few.
Vendors will be presenting wedding tips and ideas to our Brides-to-Be, and each bride will receive a fabulous swag bag including discounts from vendors. And we cannot forget the beautiful gowns provided by Dame Couture of Evanston.

A beautiful evening at Hotel Baker in St. Charles

Hotel Baker Rainbow Room
On July 22, the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce Women’s Business Council held our annual evening event at the beautiful Hotel Baker. Hotel Baker is a hidden gem in the Fox Valley and is a favorite of ours! Owner Rowena Salas and Catering Managers Liz and Mary made everyone feel like VIP’s for the evening in the gorgeous Waterfront Room overlooking the Fox River. Chef David Hassan of Hotel Baker’s Rox City Grill prepared a mouth watering menu for us including made to order crab cakes, avocado spring rolls, beef tenderloin sliders, pacific rim salad (complete with chopsticks!), and everyone’s favorite dessert…a chocolate fountain! The food was absolutely delicious and the presentation was amazing!
Any Bride looking to have her “dream” wedding should definitely visit Hotel Baker’s upcoming Wedding Showcase at Noon on Sunday August 22nd, 2010.
